Coach Ryan Ripke’s coaching career began right out of college at his alma mater, Huntington (College) University. Coach Ripke was Hall of Famer Steve Platt’s assistant coach from 1999-2003. During that time, Huntington won one Mid-Central Conference (MCC) championship and three MCC tournament championships. Huntington went to the NAIA Division II National Tournament three times, making a run to the Final Four in 1999-2000.
After leaving Huntington, Coach Ripke landed at Delta High School in Ohio, where he served in a number of various capacities in the boys program for 7 years. In 2010, he was named as the girls basketball coach at DHS. In 11 years, the Lady Panthers won 3 NWOAL championships, one district runner-up and 2 district championships. Coach Ripke’s teams went 182-82 during his time as head coach.
In 2021, Coach Ripke stepped down to watch his children as they began playing school sports. Since then, he has had the opportunity to be an assistant coach for his sons’ (Joey and Quinn) varsity soccer and basketball teams at Pettisville High School. He has also had the opportunity to coach his daughters’ (Maggie and Grace) youth basketball teams.
Ryan and his wife, Sarah, met at Huntington College and were married on July 31, 1999. They have lived in the Pettisville school district since 2003, raising their 4 children, Joey, Quinn, Maggie and Grace.
